WELCOME

Message from the President

Dear EERA Members:

On behalf of the EERA Board of Directors, I extend warm greetings to you all! I hope this message finds you well.

As we approach our 2025 Conference in Hilton Head, SC, on February 20-21, the EERA Board of Directors is working diligently to ensure another successful gathering. Our annual event provides a forum for faculty, graduate students, researchers, and practitioners to reconnect, welcome newcomers, and celebrate our collective scholarly achievements.

Beyond the conference, the Board remains focused on several key objectives, such as expanding membership and conference attendance, enhancing the overall conference experience, providing year-round engagement opportunities, and developing relationships with educational institutions and sponsors to support our organization.

The vitality of EERA requires fresh perspectives from a diverse group of people to shape its future. This fall, we invite you to nominate a candidate or self-nominate for open Board of Directors positions, including President-Elect, Vice President for Conference Planning, Secretary, Director of Communication, Director of Membership, and Director of Student Services. To learn more about these positions, refer to the EERA Bylaws on our website or contact me or a Board member directly.

Several other important ways to contribute include reviewing conference proposals, serving as a session chair, nominating individuals for awards, and joining the Journal of Research in Education (JRE) review team.

We’re also excited to share some important updates. First, we established an editorial board for the Journal of Research in Education (JRE), which presents an excellent opportunity for those interested in academic publishing. Second, we’ve adopted the Fourwaves platform to streamline proposal submissions and event registration. Also, watch your Inbox for announcements about upcoming fall and spring webinars. These have been very well-received. We’d love to hear any topic suggestions you think would benefit membership. Thank you to those who initiated and lead these initiatives!

The Board of Directors is here to serve and support you. This committed group of volunteers strives to honor EERA’s valued traditions and imagine new opportunities for growth. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to remain responsive to your needs.

Thank you for being an essential part of EERA!
